Nuns’ Island has several seniors’ residences, often in towers with a common room — we teach there both in private apartments and in small groups. In Verdun proper, our students more often live in a duplex or triplex flat with the balcony out front. We come to both, and travel is included.
Two neighbourhoods, two realities
Verdun and Nuns’ Island are two kilometres apart and nothing alike — and that changes how a lesson goes. In Verdun we ring at the bottom of a triplex, climb an outside staircase, and the lesson happens in a railroad living room near Wellington Street or Verdun Street. Your teacher arrives by metro (De l’Église, Verdun or Jolicoeur) or by bike along the riverside path.
On Nuns’ Island it’s a lobby, an intercom and an elevator. Just plan to let the front desk know, or buzz us up from your apartment: that’s the only difference, and it takes ten seconds. In the towers the Wi-Fi usually carries well; in Verdun’s triplexes it’s the length of the flat that cuts the signal between the front room and the back bedroom. Two neighbourhoods, two typical snags — we know both.
Times that respect your schedule
On weekdays, your teacher arrives at the end of the day: lessons generally start at 6 p.m.. On weekends, we come to you between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. — perfect for learning with a clear head, no clock-watching.

When can I have a lesson in Verdun?

Is the first lesson really free?
Yes, entirely, whichever format you choose. It’s our way of getting to know each other: if you enjoy it, the next lessons are $50, $70 or $90 depending on length — no tax, no subscription.
I live elsewhere, but my parents are in Verdun — can I book for them?
Of course — many families do. Book online and mention it’s for a loved one, or call us: we take care of everything, including introducing ourselves to your parents before the first lesson.
I live in a Nuns’ Island tower with an intercom. How does arrival work?
Very simply: we call from downstairs and you buzz us up, or you let the front desk know the day before. Tell us when you book and we’ll fit whatever your building requires. If your residence prefers a common room to private apartments, that works for us too.
Do you come to Verdun itself, or only to Nuns’ Island?
Both, at the same price. Verdun and Nuns’ Island are a single area for us: we cover the streets around Wellington and the riverside path just as much as the island’s towers. Travel is included in the lesson price either way.
